GVC Clubhouse: Overview

The Global Virtual Classroom Clubhouse is a multi-national, on-line cooperation activity for students from 7 to 18 years old.

Using Internet technologies to communicate, participating schools can do something as simple as exchanging electronic postcards or as complex as building a website or other projects on-line together. Individual teachers choose a partner school from our on-line listing and together design their own club activities and schedule. Teams can even choose what language they want to use.

Free GVC Clubhouse facilities include secure, private discussion forums and web server space. The GVC Clubhouse will be open year-round for maximum flexibility. This may be of particular interest to schools in the southern hemisphere whose schedules do not coincide with those above the equator.

Any teacher-led group that has access to the Internet can apply. It may be a classroom, extracurricular activity group, club or other teacher-led, school-sponsored student group. The group need not be all members of the same class, but it must be supervised by a teacher or other responsible adult.

Individual teachers may also join the Teachers' Club, a new group exclusively for those who want to meet fellow teachers and become familiar with Internet projects before undertaking one with their students.

1. Find partners through our web-based listings
	Schools that sign will have pass our online listing to search for partners by country, language and project topic.
2. Various workspaces available upon request
	Clubs can have access to their own online discussion forum and Web server. See the Model Clubhouse.
3. No school matching rules
	You can form a club with any number of schools, from any country and work in any language.
4. Plan your own schedule
	You can make your own schedule to best accommodate partners' availability, different school terms and holidays. Start and end when you wish; work at your own pace. It might be interesting to use the Clubhouse for long-term, multi-year projects.
5. Numerous possibilities for online projects
	Students can work on collaborative projects, learn to create Websites, experiment with multimedia, or simply exchange e-mail.
